I thought that I might not write again until Monday however I didn’t mention this in my last post and wanted to do so before I forgot about it. Today was Sarah’s baby shower and I got to hang out with the ladies for a while this afternoon. Quite pleasant really, no drama, lots of fussing, and I didn’t have to do anything but sit back, watch, and take pictures all afternoon. Not bad really. Sarah looked like she really enjoyed herself (why wouldn’t she…she and Brian have made out like bandits with lots of loot for baby Christopher). I’m getting very excited for them, Brian and Sarah will both make great parents, it will be fun to watch their family grow.
I was going to rant tonight about my experience almost getting a ticket at the beach the other day but I’ve decided that those people who might have found this story amusing have already been told. I didn’t get a ticket but suffice to say I won’t be making many trips to the national lake shore this summer. Way to loose the support of a local dip shits. Clearly the feds want nothing to do with me or my dog. They sure want my money though. I’ve got mixed feelings about what happened but I’m still not really that happy about it.
Awesome weather here lately…all over the country really. Sarah and Brian go back to Iowa tomorrow, from what we understand most of the state is now under water. Wow, what a day at work today. It was really busy but nobody was buying much. You can tell this economy is in the shitter or headed that way, lots of lookers but very few serious buyers. That makes my job quite difficult. Over all it was a decent day and I’m excited. The garden center was open today for the first time this season. That means I can start looking at the summer goods and seeing what fun things I can buy (although since I’m moving this fall, I likely won’t bother spending my money).
Spent this evening outside raking leaves out of my garden pit. I’ve got to pick up some mole traps again this year. They’ve not started yet but I can feel that I’m going to have problems again. I don’t think the random cats around here will do much to control the problem. I will be doing another vegetable garden again this summer. Since I’ll be here for pretty much the entire growing season, it doesn’t make much sense to just let those expensive raised garden beds and premium soil sit there to be used as a big cat box. Not sure what I’m going to plant, hopefully I can start just about everything from seed this year. Last year I could not do much form seed because my team member got hurt and I was working 80 hours a week. I’ve already told the GM’s that I refuse to pull that shit again this year. My team is perfectly able to run the show when I’m not there…well most of the time they are…they will be after my department meeting with them on Tuesday. That’s another post.

Amazing sunny day again today in Leelanau. It’s in the mid 40’s and the sky is really blue. I’m finally home from work and thankfully I have tomorrow off. I have to prepare myself for what I think is going to be a busy weekend. It is supposed to be in the low 50’s and partly sunny which means people will crawl out of their homes and hopefully start thinking about home improvements! That means profit, added payroll, and much less bitching from team members about how few hours they are all getting. SPEND, SPEND, SPEND - RAH, RAH, RAH! Always a fucking cheerleader.
The roommate situation isn’t getting any better, you’ll remember before I blew up the blog that she’s done nothing but sit on her ass all week and play computer games. She must do her homework somewhere else because she sure doesn’t do it here. I was informed that she also has tomorrow off which means I need to leave for the day and hide somewhere. I can’t wait to be in my own place where I get to make the rules again. When you think about it, this fall will be the first time I’ve truly lived by myself. Its also really been the first time in my life where I can actually afford to live by myself. I’ve always had crumby roommates and with the exception of Jirar who was my husband, I’ve always come to seriously dislike my roommates. Oh well, a few more months and you’ll be reading about my apartment search.
Not planning on doing much the rest of the day today. I’ve taken the dog for a walk and I’m quite tired myself. These days suck because I am up and out the door by 6am. By 3PM I’ve already worked more than a full day and I am exhausted but there are still lots of hours left in the day! Got to love retail.
I got some great pictures back the other day from my photo site. I decided to get a few developed. One of them is below. My camera takes amazing pictures! I guess you do get what you pay for and boy did I pay for this camera! I’m glad I did though, I’ll have these pictures forever.
