The Northwoods Is No Place For A Pink Flamingo

As you can likely see, I’ve chosen a new theme for my blog.  I don’t have much to write about lately, mainly because I’m being kept so busy at work but also just because there is next to nothing going on in my life or really in politics right now.  I’ve been spending my time off either playing around my yard or floating around out on the lake, writing has sort of taken a back burner to those 2 very important things!  Never fear, I will write more eventually.  For now, I’ll share a newer picture from my late spring gallery on leelanauphotography.com.  I am really impressed by my new camera and it’s ability to capture some really stunning pictures.  This summer I will need to start branching out a bit more from Leelanau County and start taking some pictures of other areas.  I mean, I have enough pictures now of the Sand Dunes to publish another book.  Speaking of which, maybe I’ll make that my summer project!

I’m at it again.  I was looking over the WordPress web site today and came across this new theme that I’ve now made active.  This theme has more options, a better look and feel, and is more customizable than the previous themes I have used here. I expect sometime in the next 2 months, WordPress will release a final version of their new back end which I will need to upgrade to.  Hopefully this time around I can upgrade the blog and not destroy all the posts that I have.  This platform is evolving quickly and I like how it works so keeping it up to date is important.  I think I’ll be keeping this theme for a while so enjoy!

Alright then.  I’ve settled on a new theme for my blog and at least for the time being I’m going to keep it.  It’s a little simpler than the previous one and maybe a little easier to read now that it’s on a white background.  I have added A TON of new links on the sidebars that you can feel free to check out.  I’ll be adding lots more in the future as I continue to expand this blog to make it useful not just to keep up with what I’m doing but also to keep up with what is going on in the world etc.  Now I’m off to bed, tomorrow brings another day of work, god I hope traffic starts to pick up a little bit…it’s going to be a LONG winter up here.

OK, I think I have settled on a new theme at least for the time being. For you regular readers, this one is a little more complicated than the previous ones you have seen and so you’ll need to explore it a little. Hopefully I can keep the formatting correct so it doesn’t look crazy. First, notice above the solid black line on the right side of the page it says open/close. Click on it. WOW huh? Anytime you don’t know where you are, click on that and you can get back to where you started. Inside also shows a “Tag Cloud”, random links and administrative features that you, the reader, won’t use. The header has also been customized. I told you I would find a use for that great panoramic photo of Pyramid Point. It works great as a header to this blog!

Anyhow, I’m going to stick with this theme for a while now and see how it works. If you have any comments I’d love to hear them and as always, I do appreciate comments on my posts!
