If you’ve not seen the movie “UP”, you need to rent it and watch it. I’m a huge fan of Pixar and Disney, they’ve teamed up with”YouTube whiz kid Fagottron” who has produced this great mash-up with scenes from the movie. This is also the guy that did the Marry Poppins video which is sadly no longer available on YouTube. I’ve also posted another one based on scenes from Charley and The Chocolate Factory and one from Bambi. Turn up the volume, have fun!
As you can see, I’ve got a new theme for this blog. I decided this time to go with something a little simpler and a bit less distracting. Some of my previous theme’s have been a bit on the wacky side. I was able to get WordPress 2.9 installed correctly and everything seems to be working just fine. So now I’m sitting home on a Saturday Night, listening to the Indigo Girls and not really having much to write about tonight…at least I don’t feel like expending the energy to put much thought into a post. This was a 60 hour work week for me due to my little adventure to Wisconsin. To say the least, I am tired and not very motivated tonight. With that, I’ll leave you with another Muppet Video to calm your mind this holiday season.
Never judge a book by it’s cover. Yes, that’s already been said about Susan Boyle, one of the least attractive 47 year old’s I’ve seen in recent days WITH one of the most incredible voices I’ve heard in years! For those of you who have not had the privilege yet, there is a link below and an embedded video. Click the link first and go to YouTube to get the back story and see her audition on Britain’s Got Talent. The embedded clip is from a 1999 charity CD release of unsigned artists that she did. Both are fabulous.
I’m typically not a fan of these types of variety shows. The fates and dreams of thousands of people who try out for a chance a the big time tend to lay (falsely) in the hands of 3 mega judges with agenda’s and a typically naive audience voting population. Sometimes however the right people do indeed get the exposure they deserve. This show may well be Susan’s big break and you can bet that her life will never be the same again after this audition. Whether she goes on to to win the competition or not is no longer relevant. She will now have enough recognition to land a recording contract and she will be able to retire doing what she spent her entire life attempting to do. Ride the Wave.
